“Navajo Code Talkers” on Monday
In conjunction with the “Big Read”, the Portville Free Library will be hosting Janet Wahlberg on Monday, April 23, at 6:30. Wahlberg, a retired registered nurse and a volunteer at the Fenton History Center, will share her knowledge of how the Navajo Code Talkers came to be part of the US military during World Wars I and II.
Mrs. Wahlberg became interested in the code talkers after talking to one of the original members while attending the dedication of the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. Her interest inspired her to do more research, resulting in this presentation.
This program is free and open to the public. The Portville Free Library is located at 2 North Main Street in Portville. You may call 716-933-8441 for more information.
